On June 4, 2026, leadership from the United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia (UAPRN) attended the Georgia Composite Medical Board meeting to directly address a Position Statement that poses an immediate and serious risk to patient access to care across the state.

The Georgia Composite Board of Medicine's Position Statement threatens to disrupt IV Hydration practices, APRN-Delegating Physician relationships, and the Scope of Practice protections afforded to RNs, LPNs, and APRNs under O.C.G.A. § 43-34-25.

During this meeting, UAPRN leadership and key stakeholders presented real stories from the frontlines — workforce challenges, disruptions to continuity of care, and the urgent, practical steps needed to preserve high-quality healthcare for Georgia patients and communities.

UAPRN remains fully engaged and committed to fighting for every APRN in Georgia. This is not just a policy issue. This is a patient access issue.
